Coconut Acia Smoothie

I normally sneak some greens into my smoothies, but today, the last of my spinach is looking a little wilted, and I’ve used up all of the frozen greens. Plus I was feeling the fruit vibes in a major way, so I’m letting myself off the hook. There is so much pressure to eat or drink your veggies, but sometimes (ahem, usually) we are hardest on ourselves, and it's so important to listen to your body and give it what it's craving now and again. And dang it, I’m craving fruit.

So if you're feeling fruity, this smoothie is bound to do the trick. It certainly worked for me.

INGREDIENTS

I 3.5 ounce packet unsweetened açai

1 large banana

½ - 1 cup coconut water

1/4 cup frozen coconut chunks (I load up on these from Trader Joe's)

1 tbsp chia seeds

1 scoop Marine Collagen or Collagen Peptides

2 scoops protein powder (I used Moon Juice Blue Adaptogen Protein Powder)

1/2 Tbsp agave syrup or honey

1/2 cup ice cubes

Directions: All add ingredients to a blender and blend for 30-60 seconds until smooth. Add more coconut water or plain water if needed to do the job, or add more ice if you like your smoothies thicker, like me.

Toppings:

¼ cup granola

Handful of blackberries

Chia seeds
